What started as a passion for working with wood has grown into something we're proud of. The Saw Dust Shop was born out of a simple idea: build quality outdoor furniture by hand, the way it used to be done — with real wood, real craftsmanship, and a fair price. We're based in Caledonia, Wisconsin, and we build everything right here in our workshop.
Over the years, we've built patio sets for family gatherings, swings for front porches, garden boxes for backyard gardens, and one-of-a-kind custom pieces that our customers couldn't find anywhere else. Every project starts with a conversation about what you need, and ends with something built to last.
We use thicker, higher-quality lumber than what you'll find in most retail furniture. Every piece is hand-cut, assembled, and finished in our shop. We don't mass produce — each project gets individual attention from start to finish. We select wood for strength and grain character, and we apply protective stains and sealants so your furniture holds up through Wisconsin's seasons.
Whether it's a set of matching patio chairs or a decorative wishing well painted in Packers colors, the same level of care goes into every build. If you have a specific vision — carved names, custom dimensions, a particular stain color — we can work with you to make it happen.
